A free way to manage a community fund
Free tools for community money are common. Free tools you can leave with your data are less so.
Short answer. Laqfiz is free: creating a community, adding members, recording payments, attaching receipts and reading the history cost nothing, with no card and no per-member charge. Nothing is charged for later either — there is no paid tier waiting.
What costs nothing
- Creating communities, however many.
- Adding members, however many.
- Recording payments and attaching receipts.
- Recording income and expenses.
- Reading the whole history, for every member.
What to ask of any free tool
- Can you get your data out? The single most important question.
- Is it free per community or per member? Per-member free tiers usually have a wall.
- Who owns the record? The community, or the account that created it?
- What is the business model? If it is not stated, assume the data is part of it.
Ours, stated plainly
Laqfiz is paid for by voluntary contributions from communities that find it useful. Records are not sold, and there is no advertising. A community that contributes nothing gets exactly the same product as one that contributes.
Common questions
Is there a member limit?
No. A community of five and a community of fifty cost the same, which is nothing.
How is it paid for?
By contributions from communities that choose to give something. There is a page for it in the app, and nothing in the product changes whether or not a community contributes.
